Our activate external paints for outdoor applications contain a combination of ultrafine photo-catalytic materials that are completely safe, stable, durable, self-cleaning, and resistant to microorganisms. Our formulations use photo-catalysts to actively reduce airborne pollutants and volatile organic compounds whilst keeping the surface cleaner for longer. Additionally, this reaction provides the painted surface with anti-bacterial properties. Photo-catalytic materials are also effective at decomposing organic stains, mould, and algae that can accumulate on exposed painted surfaces. This benefit reduces life cycle maintenance costs considerably.
Applications of Activate External Paints
One example of this application on barricades, bridges, overpasses, walls, and underground passes around motorways and roads. Nitrogen Oxides come primarily from vehicle exhausts. Although catalytic converters can now reduce these pollutants and other harmful emissions, they cannot completely eliminate the problem. These emissions have serious health and environmental effects. Whilst travelling through areas of high traffic, vehicular occupants and pedestrians are exposed to these emissions.
Approximately 3 million people are killed worldwide by outdoor air pollution annually. The European Commission estimates that air pollution reduces the life expectancy of its citizen by almost a full year. Air pollution from exhaust fumes kills more than twice as many people as road accidents, around 1,850 people die in traffic accidents in the UK annually, but over 5,000 people will die as a result of heart attacks and lung cancer caused by exhaust fumes from vehicles.
Painted Structures
Over the years, the appearance of buildings, homes, and other structures begin to rapidly tarnish with stains and residues from pollutants. Activate external paints can protect these surfaces but repelling dust, dirt, and organic growth, as well as water as the painted surface, becomes hydrophilic. Water stains typically are the most abundant issue as water either stains the paint or surface material, or promotes algae, mildew, and moulds to culture. When the surfaces are coated with activated external paints, there is a significant reduction of staining and therefore maintenance or renovations are fewer and further apart.
